Have you ever wondered how a parachute works? Well, let me explain it for you. Air causes friction on the parachute witch slows it down to lower constant velocity. Otherwise known as terminal velocity. The parachute that we did was made of a single plastic bag that we cut in half and put string on all four of the corners. Our parachute fell with the time of 2.9 seconds and an animal with no parachute landed with the time of 1.1 seconds. So clearly, with the parachute, the object that is suspended by a parachute fell a lot more slowly than the animal wth out a parachute.
